WASHINGTON, D.C. – Capitol Counsel announced today that Alex Parker has joined their team as a principal, further deepening their expertise in tax, finance, and economic issues, expanding their offerings to clients. Parker will bring a rare perspective and expertise on the constantly evolving media and congressional landscape.
Capitol Counsel Founding Partner John D. Raffaelli announced today that Law360 and Bloomberg Tax veteran, Alex Parker, will join the firm. “Alex will bring a unique expertise on corporate and international tax law and legislation, and the media landscape. His keen understanding of highly complex issues and ability to communicate them in this deeply divided Congress will be an invaluable asset to our clients.”
Parker has covered international taxation and corporate taxation since October 2012 as a senior tax correspondent with Law360, and as a reporter with Bloomberg Tax. In these roles he wrote breaking news articles as well as in-depth analysis of issues such as the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, international negotiations at the G-20 and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on how to address global tax avoidance and tax in the digital economy. Additional issue coverage included litigation over tax issues with some of the biggest U.S. companies, and tax issues in the 2020 and 2016 presidential campaigns.
Before becoming a tax reporter Parker covered Congress and the federal government for U.S. News & World Report and Government Executive Magazine. He also worked for the Toledo Blade and the Lorain Morning Journal, both in Ohio, covering local government as well as the court system.
