Genny Beltrone is a principal with Capitol Counsel, LLC. She brings eight years of Capitol Hill experience to clients from her work with Senator Jon Tester (D-MT), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. As a legislative assistant, Beltrone advised Senator Tester on telecommunications, technology, science, and small business policy for his role as a member of the powerful Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee. As a legislative correspondent, she advanced her policy skills in the areas of banking, science and technology, campaign finance, commerce, judiciary, immigration, homeland security, and government operations. Beltrone has participated in bipartisan policy panels in Montana on telecom issues and maintains strong ties on both sides of the aisle throughout the Western states.

Successes

As the Commerce staffer for a Senate Commerce Committee member, Beltrone worked with stakeholders and members of the committee on both sides of the aisle on the issue of increasing access to broadband and local news for rural America. She contributed to the bipartisan Broadband Data Act to modernize federal broadband funding maps.
